Toronto Maplereefers Parrothead Club

We are the Toronto Maple Reefers ParrotHead Club, the 184th PHiP sanctioned official ParrotHead club in the world!

Founded in the fall of 2003, the Toronto Maple Reefers ParrotHead Club adopted the mandate of ParrotHead clubs worldwide: "party with a purpose".
Boasting over 180 active members, the club regularly holds social events to benefit local charities, primarily the Toronto Children's Breakfast Club. The TCBC provides thousands of breakfasts and lunches every year in the GTA to kids who would might no otherwise get a good start to the day.

Our members themselves are a diverse cross section of ages and occupations from mainly Southern & Central Ontario with one thing in common-a love of the tropical lifestyle embodied by Jimmy Buffett. We are collectively aware of our limited number of trips around the sun, and we are determined to squeeze as much phun in as possible, trying to leave it all a little better than we found it, playing as diligently as we work.
What we lack in latitude around here, we make up for in attitude! There’s something about being harboured in a place that sees tropical temperatures only three months a year that produces particularly enthusiastic Parrot Heads! Go phigure!

So grab a boat drink(s), make yourself comfortable, and take a look around our little piece of Margaritaville. There are lots of photos, drink recipes, links, stories that bear repeating, and tales from late last night. And, if you think you might be one of our lost phlock of northern parrots, please contact us about membership.

Grab a Drink! Listen to your favourite trop rock artists' online concerts!!!

Phineas Recommends......

"Phineas Recommends" are events recommended by our mascot, Phineas (and who wants to argue with a shark?). They are typically hosted or run by club members or phriends of the club but are not official club functions.

See the Maplereefer Band V2.0 in Oakville!

They will be playing at the Trafalgar Golf Club on Wed Sept 1, at 8 pm. All parrotheads are welcome. The club is located at the corner of Derry Rd and Sixth Line in Oakville. The event will be held on the outdoor patio. No cover charge.

Hey Parrothead Musicians: Do you have any old guitars collecting dust?

Guitars to Kids is a non-profit organization that collects and refurbishes used guitars and provides them free-of-charge to youth in the Simcoe Muskoka Region. The program provides youth with an opportunity for personal and cognitive development through learning music.

We accept the donation of all acoustic guitars, electric guitars, and bass guitars to the program, regardless of the age, size or condition of the instrument. Every guitar receives some TLC prior to being given a new home with a local youth.

While they are located north of the GTA, their volunteers will come to Toronto and the GTA to collect your guitar! Click GuitarsToKids to donate or for more info or email

29th Annual Meeting of the Minds
"Party at the End of the World"
November 3 to 7, 2021
(Key West, Florida)

Note from PHIP

Embrace the MOTM21 JuJu!
We are all optimistic, despite some difficult months ahead, that the Party at the End of the World will be held under normal or near normal conditions. Still, we are taking every step possible to generate some extra good juju! Read on to find out how you too can be a JuJu generator tomorrow Monday, February 1.
By adding Sunday music to this year’s event, we can say the MOTM21 runs through 11-7-21. Numerologically speaking, this is the luckiest date since 7-7-77, which was the date that Jimmy Buffett’s “Margaritaville” peaked on the US Billboard Pop Chart (unfortunately at Number 8!). Naturally, with those kinds of numbers before us, we had no choice but to open registration on 1-21-21, which is both an extraordinarily lucky number and a palindrome, at 11:07:21 AM, at the bargain price of $97.77, thus making an MOTM21 registration the safest bet you’ll ever make!
So far it seems to be working!
Despite opening registration more than a month later than usual, we were not only caught up within a week but pacing the sellout 25th Anniversary MOTM event. Aside from a few high-roller oceanfront suites, the Casa Marina was sold out inside of 72 hours, and the new stage side VIP room options vanished within an hour.
You too can be an MOTM21 Good JuJu Generator.
This Monday is not only the beginning of a new month, but it’s also 2-1-21. For obvious reasons, this is an exceptionally good day, from a juju perspective, to register for MOTM21. We encourage all parrot heads of good cheer to knock on tiki wood, throw salt from a recently found shaker over your left shoulder, rub a banana, chant “Baby needs a new pair of flip flops” three times, and then go to and register for MOTM21 on 2-1-21. If you want to go the extra mile, register at 8:21 pm, which will be the 21st minute of the 21st hour of 2-1-21, or at 9:21 pm, which will be 21:21 on 2/1/21.
Lodging Updates
To request to be put on a Casa Marina waiting list, email Rooms do open up from time to time due to cancelations, and occasional movement of Coral Reefers to other secure locations. You may also reserve a room at the Casa’s nearby sister resort The Reach, which also offers discount and resort fee waiver to MOTM attendees with the Discount code ZZMOTM. You can follow the link to The Reach on the registration page, or call 1-833-788-0840. You may reserve a room at The Reach and also request to be on the Casa Marina waiting list, but reserving a room at The Reach does not put you on the waiting list automatically.
Remember, if you are staying at the Casa, you and each occupant of your room MUST be registered for MOTM. Additionally, it is a requirement of federal law that ALL MOTM registrants be members of an approved PHC. Memberships will be verified.

We are not Parrot Heads because we are Jimmy Buffett fans

We are Parrot Heads because…..

We love the ocean

We love the planet

We love to have fun.

We are Parrot Heads because…..

We are not afraid to be silly

We are not afraid to act foolish

We are not afraid of love.

We are Parrot Heads because…..

We like scantily clad members of our favorite sex

We like playing in the sun with those same members

We like singing songs that say all these things.

We are Parrot Heads because…..

We believe the best things in life cannot be bought

We believe sharing the best things makes them better

We believe in the innate goodness in all of us.

We are Parrot Heads because…..

We know shared joy is increased

We know shared pain is lessened

We know a good friend has value beyond measure.

It just so happens, that Jimmy Buffett sings about all these things

So we are not Parrot Heads because we are Jimmy Buffett fans,

We are Jimmy Buffett fans because we are Parrot Heads.
