Event Description

As part of our club's charter, we must perform community service. So, as part of the Toronto Mayor's city cleanup program, we will phlock down to Cherry Beach and clean up the mess old man winter left behind. Past years have proven that the weather can be unpredictable. Last year we had hurricane like conditions while other years we have had summer like weather. So dress accordingly.

We will gather at the tiki hut at 9:00 am and will supply the rubber gloves and garbage bags.

Past years we have had a BBQ after the clean-up. This year we will be doing things a bit different. This year's event will be BYOBBB (bring your own beef, buns and beverage). The club will supply the BBQ's, condiments and paper products.

So if the weather is sunny and warm, bring a lunch, beach chairs and plan on sticking around to enjoy the clean beach and listen to some tropical tunes.

See you there....... Phins Up

Since it's possible our day at the beach this weekend might be cloudy or drizzly, whether it's Saturday or Sunday (still Saturday so far), everybody who shows up there will fall into two categories, "people and places..."  But one lucky participant will hit the trifecta, with a bottle of "Callwood's Rum" - direct from Cane Garden Bay!

See you there!

Hi, everybody.  Spring has sprung, the grass is riz, I wonder where the birdies is...Parrots, that is.

Actually, Spring's been teasing us for a while, and I hope it keeps its end up for the 21st.  This will be our first, real official event since Brian Neale's CD release party in February.  I hope to see a lot of people come out.  We hope to have some new members, and long-lost members, as well as the regular gang coming to the beach.

Like Jim said, we'll have a couple of barbeques going, so bring some burgers and buns and make a picnic out of it with us.

Not renewed yet?  Anyone joining or renewing right up to our Cinco de Mayo party in May , including anyone who signs up at Cherry Beach is automatically entered into a draw for a Limited Edition Maple Reefers iPod.  And new members will get a gift certificate good for your dinner at Whistler's at a future event.  There are other prizes too.

And, hey, there's another Ontario Parrothead Club in the fold - The Port Perry Parrothead Club.  I've been trying to email them a "Welcome to the hlock"...but it seems their email and website are not quite ready yet.  Keep checking it out, folks, and send them a big hello as soon as it's up!

I hope you all have a great Easter Weekend, and I look forward to seeing everyone at Cherry Beach.
